Beauty and Brains

Federally Employed Women (FEW) is a
group that does many things to help women employed for the government and
provides ample opportunities for women who work for the government to grow
professionally through conferences and workshops.

FEW was formed in 1968. Also, there
are 10 FEW regions in the United States. The primary mission of FEW is to end
sex and gender discrimination and encourage diversity in the workplace. FEW has
several primary mission points, such as committing to maintain a unified and
diverse membership and providing opportunity for professional growth.

Would Sally Ride join FEW? She
certainly could, being a federally employed woman.  She would definitely encourage members of FEW
to support women astronauts, and she might even want a FEW member to speak at a
Sally Ride Science event to encourage
young girls and women.
